Verse Reflections: God has seen our ways, every aspect of our lives. He knows even the smallest details, including what eat and the secrets we keep. As someone who struggles with sugar addiction, I am relieved to know that God understands our weaknesses. He promises “I will heal”. His healing brings transformation to our lives. This verse assures us that God will provide guidance. When we are hesitating in making healthy choices, we can remember that God is there to lead us. We know that we should choose His foods, make healthy eating choices it is reassuring to know that he helps us in our moments of struggle. His healing and guidance are always available- we just need to reach out and accept them. When we are carrying extra weight it will often lead to discomfort, dissatisfaction and frustration. We are unhappy with our choices and our weight. This verse promises that Christ will restore comfort. I cherish this verse because I used to be comfortable with my body. I used to be able to wear any clothes I chose. My weight was at a point that I felt healthy and it was easy for me to get up off the floor. Losing weight, choosing not to eat sugary foods or high carbohydrate foods restores the balance of our bodies. It reduces the inflammation in our joints and allows us to feel full. This restoration of our health will give us physical comfort while God gives us mental and emotional comfort. As we place our trust in His healing, He guides us toward healthier habits, encouraging us to eliminate processed foods and choose “God foods.” Today, let us embrace His healing power.
Prayer: Father, thank you for Your healing touch. I accept it fully and claim it over my life. You do see my ways, everything I do including the foods I choose. You witness the moments when I cross the line of making healthy decisions. You know when I binge or cram sugar or processed foods into my body. I know these foods harm me. They do not have any nutritional value and they actually harm my body. I apologize to You for not caring for my body, it is a work of art and engineering. I acknowledge that these choices harm me. I haven’t always valued it enough to consistently choose healthy foods. I ask for Your guidance to move beyond where I am now. While I make healthy choices most of the time, I need Your help in that remaining portion of my life where I struggle with food and portion control I know that You will restore physical comfort to me when I step away from harmful habits. I believe as I surrender to Your wisdom, Your foods, I will experience less pain, more energy and greater physical freedom. Lord, I know what to do but I totally need Your power to do it. I accept Your healing today and I choose to eat Your foods, to nourish myself with the foods You intended for me, trusting in Your guidance every step of the way.
