Verse Reflections: Wow! God is promising us the power to stomp on all the temptations that have haunted us for years. We can bruise that fallen angel satan that keeps coming at us with the same temptations over and over and over again. Honestly, it is ridiculous that we allow Him to keep tempting us with food. We should make him work harder to find something new. He tempted Christ with food in the desert 2000 years ago and Christ responded: It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4,Deuteronomy 8:3). Isn’t it ironic that now He is using scripture to once again heal us from the temptations of food. We are given scripture after scripture (words that proceeds from the mouth of God) to remind us of God’s power. It also reminds us that we should not eat for selfish reasons. Can you imagine going 40 days without eating and then not using your power to create food? We are shown here in Romans that God will use our own feet to bruise/weaken and eliminate the power of temptation. His grace has saved us from any of these powers. We just have to accept His power as a fact and move forward. He will fill us with a peace, not an anxiety or a fear on this journey. We need to stomp our feet and shout “no more”. We need to take back the power that Jesus Christ has given us. We need to stomp our feet on the potato chip aisle, on the cookie aisle, in the restaurants, in the kitchen and stop this vicious cycle of abusing our bodies. Adopt His peace and grace as your own. Then stomp your feet to success in your healthy eating and weight loss journey. Temptations have no power over us. Choose God foods today!
Prayer: Oh yeah! Stomp him God. Bruise Him God. I love that in this verse You are bruising Him but You are using me/my feet to do it. So, let’s stomp on him God together. Take away his power in my life. I don’t even want to acknowledge the power he has had in tempting me but You know the truth. Thank You for reassuring me that we can bruise him together. I can stomp on Him. I am going to stomp my feet before I walk into the next party, before I walk down the aisles of the grocery store, before I walk into a restaurant and remind myself that You and I have the power. There is nothing he can do to me. Your peace can fill me even as Your grace forgives me for all my failures. Today, I embrace Your peace, I embrace Your grace and I embrace Your power over any temptation that comes my way. Let’s stomp on the temptations that have overtaken our lives and choose natural, healthy foods that nourish Your bodies here on earth. Thank You God. Have a great day today, You are going to see a lot of foot stomping down here. Get ready.
