God’s right-ness

And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. Philippians 3:9

Verse Reflections: For so long I have tried to “eat right” on my own strength. The bottom line is that this verse is correct, I do not have “my own right’ness”.  I have to have right-ness only through God by faith. How do we take this sentence to the next level? We have to live by faith that we can live “right”. Faith is the belief and trust in God’s promises. We have to KNOW that we can trust in God’s power that we can choose the right foods. We have to KNOW that we can trust in God’s power that we can say know to the wrong foods. Do not pause. Do not second guess your ability to live this way for the rest of your life. Have FAITH in God, not yourself. Paul’s words in Philippians 3:9 help us shift the focus from our own efforts to God’s grace. The same truth applies to our health journey. We cannot achieve lasting change by depending solely on rules, diets, or self-determination. These can be helpful tools, but they cannot sustain us without the deeper transformation that comes from Christ.

When we place our faith in Christ, we allow His righteousness and power to guide and sustain us. This faith changes our perspective: eating healthy and losing weight are no longer about self-righteousness or achieving perfection. Instead, they become opportunities to grow in faith, honor God, and care for the bodies He’s given us. We know that natural foods honor our bodies. Today, we are going to have faith, we are going to KNOW that God is transforming our choices. We will choose right foods, God foods today.

Prayer: Lord, I confess that I have tried to rely on my own strength and efforts to change my habits. Help me to shift my focus to You and to trust in Your righteousness and grace. Transform my heart and give me the strength to make choices that honor You. Teach me to rely on faith instead of striving, and help me to care for my body as an act of worship. God I claim with all my heart and all my mind today Your power. I do not have my own righteousness. This verse nails it. I have depended on my own power for way, way too long and I am not the healthy weight that my body deserves to be. Help me not to make this about rules or diets. Help me to make this about using Your power to eat the foods that You created so that my body is healthy. I love You so much. It is time to make this about YOU, not me. We will choose God foods together.
