Stay Connected

Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in Me… for without me you can do nothing. John 15:4, 5

Verse Reflections: Once again, God connects these verses to bring more and more power to our journey. He has set us free from truth and revealed His truth, He has called us to complete servitude. Now He is reminding us that none of this can happen unless we abide in Him and He abides in us. We are ready to lose weight, ready to be healthy and bear the fruit of the journey. We have to live fully connected to Christ the vine. We cannot get the living waters, the eternal nutrition unless we are connected to Him. We cannot bear fruit without His power. Without Him, we can do nothing. The mere fact that I have scoured the Bible for 365 verses that give us power and perspectives reminds us that we cannot be successful in healthy living without His power. The secret sauce to this journey is just accepting that we already have the power inside of us. He lives inside of us. All we have to do is incorporate this power into our minds, hearts and souls. We have to not let the author of lies convince us that we do not have this power. I am astounded to realize that I often listen to lies. I often allow satan to make me question my abilities. I am convinced daily that tomorrow I will change. I am convinced daily that I deserve a splurge. I buy that lie over and over. Today is the only day that will change our lives. We have the power now, today. Quit moving the time to embrace this journey. This verse reminds us that we can do nothing without being connected to Christ but it also reminds us that we can do all that He has called us to do as long as we remain connected to Christ.

Prayer: Father, I am connected to You. I feel Your power seep into my veins. I know that You are powerful and yet I am so weak that sometimes I hand You Your power back just so I can “have fun”. Forgive me. Transform me into Your image. I know that You are the vine and I am the branches and I’ve never seen an overweight vine. Allow me to know that I have the power inside of me when I am connected to You. Seep Your power inside of me. I thank You for these verses that connect me to You daily. They remind me of Your power. They remind me that You are one with the power. I will never have the power to eat healthy and lose weight without You. God I want to choose Your foods today and every day. Thank You!
