Flag of Victory
So will they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy will come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a flag of victory against him. Isaiah 59:19
Verse Reflections: Hallelujah! The Lord will lift up a flag of victory against our enemy. The battle has been won. Claim the victory. You no longer have to be tempted by food. You can eat one serving. You can choose the foods that God created. Yes, satan will flood you with temptations. Temptation doesn’t always look like a major spiritual battle. Sometimes, it looks like a treat in the refrigerator late at night or an extra plate of food when we already feel full. The enemy often comes in quietly — not with violence, but with a whisper: “You deserve this.” “It’s just a little more.” “You can start over tomorrow.”
Now read this verse again and again. The Lord will lift up the flag of victory! You have fought the battle with food for years. Now, let the Lord fight the battle because He has won. You just need to start living like you have won this battle. Eliminate the taunts in your head, eliminate the mantra that you will start tomorrow. Stop thinking that if you don’t eat the food in front of you today, it will not be available tomorrow. Stop going back for seconds. Just STOP! You are changed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Live it. Fear the name of the Lord and face His glory, His immense worth, His perfect splendor.
Every morning when the sun rises, you have a new day to claim victory. Celebrate every single day that you lift the flag up with the Lord. If you submit to the flood of temptations, start again tomorrow. God has won. You just have to get in the habit of living this new life, and sometimes it takes time to eliminate mistakes. Don’t flog or criticize yourself. Satan uses your negativity against you. Christ created you perfectly, and you belong to Him. Grab the flag of victory for the next minute, the next hour, the next meal, the next day! Lift it high. Today we will eat God foods and we will lift the flag of victory with the Lord.
Prayer: Father, this verse gets me excited. You have won this battle. I can quit fighting. I do not need a pill or a shot. I do not need surgery. I do not need a new extreme diet. I need to know that You will lift the flag of victory against Satan and my unhealthy eating habits. Lord, when temptation comes in like a flood, lift Your banner of victory over me. Strengthen me through Your Spirit to walk in self-control and peace. Help me find comfort and satisfaction in You alone, not in food or fleeting pleasure. May every choice I make honor Your glory from the rising of the sun to its setting. May I celebrate the victory with You today as I see the rising of the sun. Together, we will choose Your foods to live a full, healthy life. Amen.
