No power can separate us
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38, 39
Verse Reflections: This is the perfect verse to follow being “filled with the fulness of God”. Nothing can separate us from God- not your struggles, your setbacks, or your insecurities. Paul’s unshakable confidence in God’s love is an anchor for our journey to health. This love doesn’t waver, whether you make the healthiest choice or give in to temptation. God’s love for us is constant, unconditional, and empowering. As we work toward better health, let this truth be our foundation. The fallen angel, satan, has no power. Death and its grief has no power. Things that happened to us in our past, our present or our future has no power over us. We can’t rise high enough in this life to fool ourselves into thinking we have everything under control. We can’t sink low enough to think that we can’t get out of the hole.
“Neither death, nor life…nor things present, nor things to come.” Our health journey is a reflection of our present circumstances and future hopes. But whether you’re just beginning or have faced setbacks along the way, nothing in our present struggles or future challenges can separate us from God’s love. His grace surrounds us, offering strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Each healthy choice we make is evidence of God’s work in our life. Celebrate those small victories, knowing that His love carries us forward and nothing can separate us from His love.
Prayer: Thank You Father for reminding us that we cannot move away from You even when we close our eyes and pretend like You are not there while we indulge in foods we know are not good for us. Come with us to the party and sit with us as we slowly heal and begin to make good choices. Remind us that we do not have to chastise ourselves when we make unhealthy choices. Remind us that You love us the same no matter what. This acknowledgement of the depth and breadth of Your love just relaxes my body and makes me smile. So often I want to move You away from me when I decide to splurge. I don’t want You watching. I am going to start inviting You to my parties and surround myself with Your healing love even when I do not feel lovable. Knowing that I am loveable, that You love me despite myself actually allows me to make better choices. Thank You for this amazing, forgiving, grace filled love that is beyond my comprehension. Today, lead me to the foods You created and let’s start having healthy parties of fun. I love You. ME.
