Verse Reflections: God protects every day of our lives. He is our strength internally. He is our shield to protect us externally. We have to depend on him every day of our lives. Our strength doesn’t come from a perfect diet, a workout plan, or a health trend — it comes from the Lord. Yet, because He is our strength, we are called to care for the bodies He’s given us as an act of trust and gratitude. We have to trust in Him in our hearts and know that He will help us every day. So often, we pray for His help when we just have to trust Him and know that He has already given us the strength to do what He has called us to do. He is our strength. Sometimes it’s easier to reach for comfort food when we’re stressed or tired. But in those moments, this verse reminds us that God is our shield. We can turn to Him for comfort instead of food that only satisfies temporarily. All we have to do is trust in Him and He will help us. So, when you are tempted to eat foods that You know are not what He has called You to eat… relax, He has given You the strength to walk away and eat His foods. He is all powerful. He is the healer. Yes, take hold of His hands. But quit asking. Trust completely with your heart. Have confidence that He has given You the answer. Start praising Him because He has delivered You. Let Your heart leap for joy because He has helped You. You are healed. Start praising Him. Know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has given You the power to rise above this world. You are shielded from temptation. You just need to trust when You wake up in the morning that You have the power of Christ behind You. Let Your heart leap for joy because You can face the day with His power. You have been delivered. Accept it, live it. Eat God foods. You have the power to make it happen.
Prayer: Lord, Every day I ask You for help, for deliverance. This verse reminds me that I need to wake up and just thank You for being my strength and shield. You have already delivered me from the temptations that haunt me. Help me to simply trust in You as this verse says. You promise me that You will help me. I reach my hands up to claim all of these promises. Four beautiful promises within two sentences. I love You with all my heart which leaps for joy at the thought of You rescuing me from the curse of overeating. I come to You on this day with confidence thanking You for all that You have already done to deliver me from this curse. Today I am going to claim Your strength and shield. I am going to trust in You, knowing that You will help me make choices that honor You and bring lasting strength and joy. Father, my heart leaps for joy knowing that I will finally eat healthily. I praise You knowing that I will choose Your foods.
