This website has 365 Bible Verses to help you eat right and be healthy. Are you tired of trying to lose weight and being healthy on your own?  Me too!  God’s word has 365 verses that show His power to lead us on a new journey of eating right. Just reading one verse a day has made a difference in how I eat. I have developed this website and these devotions so that hopefully the verses, God’s power, will make a difference in your life too.
Ephesians 6:17-18
“Take… the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
These devotions are all about being on the offensive, starting our day with the power of God and not depending on our own power to eat right, be healthy and lose weight.
God’s Word Wins: 1 John 2:14 promises:  “…you are strong and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the evil one.”  And this is the beginning of the main point of these devotions!  We are strong because the word of God abides in us.  Therefore, we must pour God’s word into our souls every day.  The day we stop pouring the word in is the day that a little edge of doubt creeps in.  The day we stop pouring the word in is the day we quit trying, we give up making the right choices.  The day we stop pouring the word of God in is the day we splurge.  The day we don’t arm ourself with the word of God is the day that we can’t start again.  The day we don’t have the word of God in our heart is the day that we believe we are not worth the journey.  God has overcome the evil one and we, in turn, have overcome the temptations to eat the wrong foods when the word of God abides in us.  So claim it, know it.  Quit “trying” to lose weight, quit “trying” to eat healthy.  Read the word of God and just do it!!! God has won the battle, so don’t let anyone tell you any differently.  In fact, I John 5:18 says “… He who was born of God (Jesus) keeps him (us) and the evil one does not touch him (us).”  Do you hear this?  Temptations cannot touch us!  And yet, I must remind those of you who have had Jesus by your side for years… we have to make a conscious choice to wrap ourselves in the cloak of God’s word every day.  Period.  You cannot just say “God will help me”.  You have to consciously seek Him out each day.  He has given us the tools but you can’t saw a tree down without picking up the saw and moving your arm.  MOVE!!  Get up in the morning, pick up God’s word and let’s go to war.
So what does God + 1 Mean?  Start your day with 1 Bible Verse.  The Power of God.  Then eat God foods… all natural, pure foods.  Enjoy eating!  He made wonderful foods that we can enjoy with no guilt.  And the + 1?  Allow yourself the grace to have that ONE other food per day with no guilt.  Salad dressing?  +1 Desert?  +1  Chips or salty snacks? +1
  1. One Bible verse per day
  2. One journal/devotional time per day
  3. One (or zero) serving of non-God food a day
  4. One exercise per day
  5. One fruit and vegetable (non-carb) with every meal and one as a snack (4-5 a day)
  6. One protein with every meal
  7. Only one carb a day  (easy definition—white stuff)
  8. One serving
This is War:
Ephesians 6:12 tells us that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”  I, for one, totally believe this.  I have tried and tried and tried to eat healthy, to not gain weight.  I lose and gain and lose and gain over and over.  I cannot win this war!  I am going to make this a heavenly battle and let God do the work for me.  All I have to do is open His word every day.  I spend thirty minutes to an hour getting dressed every day.  Well, enough of that crap.  I am going to spend 30 minutes to an hour getting my soul dressed every day.  Not five minutes, not 10.  God has won and I am going to accept His power.  I am going to wrap myself in His Holy power every day.  If that is all it takes, I can do this! I will do this.  I will no longer live on the defense.  I am going to go on the offensive.  Now… here is the good news:  God has already won.  Ephesians 6:10 says, “Finally be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Once we put on the defensive armor of truth, right-ness, peace, faith and salvation then we get to take up our only offensive weapon:  God’s word!
We are in a war to be healthy and lose weight!  Satan knows what razor makes you bleed and He is going to exploit it with everything in His power.  He is going to tell you that you are fat.  He is going to tell you that you can’t lose weight so why try.  He is going to tell you that you are ugly so why try to look better.  He is going to tell you that if you do lose the weight that it will all come back anyway like it has in the past.  He is going to make you feel too tired to exercise.  He is going to tell you that you are too busy to exercise.  He is going to tell you to pig out and then make yourself throw up so you won’t get fat.  He is going to tell you to take a laxative. He is going to tell you to starve yourself, go on a liquid diet, take pills. He is going to tell you that it is easy for everyone else, you just have a bad metabolism, a thyroid problem, insulin resistance…  He is going to tell you that you deserve those treats.  He is going to tell you every day that today is different, a celebration or a bad day, and therefore you get to splurge and start healthy eating habits tomorrow.  He is going to tell you to not feel confident when you put on your clothing.  He is going to convince you that you are not sexy even if you are married to a wonderful person who thinks you are sexy no matter what.  We must realize that we have been held captive by the devil’s lies and it is time to break loose.  2 Timothy 2:26 tells us to come to our senses and escape.  “And they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.”  I am ready to come to my senses.  I will no longer believe the lies.  I will no longer live on the roller coaster.  I will no longer do Satan’s will.  I am no longer playing.  I will not buy into these lies.  Not only does it affect my relationship with God, it affects my confidence, my ability to shine for God.  It affects my relationships with people on earth.  I’m done with His lies.  I am gorgeous, I am sexy and I am a winner.
